The Paces Foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to specifically provide the public with the benefit of affordable housing. There isn’t enough affordable housing in America to rid us of poverty and poor living conditions. Until there is, we have to ponder the for-profit business models in this industry. With a for-profit business, the owners and shareholders generally receive the profits. With a nonprofit, any money that’s left after the organization has paid its bills is put back into the organization. Simply put, we use the development fees from the last project to fund the work for future developments.  If we waived the development fees entirely, we couldn’t exist to further the mission.
