Building for the future

Better for the environment, better for living

The Paces Foundation believes the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification standards sets a global benchmark for the future of building—the process is known for demonstrating leadership, innovation, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is transforming the way we think about how our buildings and communities are designed, constructed, maintained and operated. At its core, the LEED program provides third-party verification of green buildings. Building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.

We’re proud to say that several of The Paces Foundation’s affordable communities have met gold and platinum certifications. As a result, our residents experience lower utility bills, better air quality, and natural light. Our properties are built with locally sourced materials, use less water for landscaping, and are easier to maintain over a longer period of time. We have even used solar and wind to provide power for our properties—check out these solar powered water heaters!
